As the Springboks close in on the 2024 Rugby Championship title, pick your scrumhalf and flyhalf to battle Los Pumas in Santiago on Saturday.

Rassie Erasmus’ troops can seal their first Rugby Championship crown since 2019 on Saturday, and Argentina are the only other team in the running with two rounds remaining.

South Africa hold an eight-point lead at the top of the standings over Argentina and a win would see the world champions claim the southern hemisphere title.

Manie Libbok and Handre Pollard have travelled to Santiago del Estero as the only two flyhalves in the squad for the trip, with Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu remaining in South Africa to prepare for the return clash in Nelspruit.

Libbok, who went to the 2023 World Cup as the Boks’ only fit flyhalf, has started one Test this year – against Portugal in Bloemfontein in July, while he had a 10-minute cameo off the bench against the Wallabies in Perth.

Meanwhile, Pollard has started three Tests this year, most recently against the All Blacks in Cape Town, while he donned the No 10 jersey in both mid-year Tests against Ireland.

A late change to the squad has seen Morne van den Berg called up as an injury replacement for Grant Williams, joining Cobus Reinach and Jaden Hendrikse as the scrumhalves in the squad.

Reinach has been the go-to scrumhalf for the Boks in 2024 in Faf de Klerk’s injury-enforced absence, starting three Tests, while Van den Berg has started once in his breakthrough Test season. Having recovered from a shoulder injury, Hendrikse made his return as a substitute against the All Blacks in Cape Town.
