Handre Pollard’s 14-point haul helped Leicester Tigers seal a comeback victory, while Springbok prop Thomas du Toit opened his try-scoring account for Bath.

Handre Pollard scored 14 points as Leicester stormed back to beat Gloucester 29-26 in a Premiership thriller on Sunday. Gloucester were on track for a second successive win at Welford Road after opening up a 19-8 lead, but Pollard got the comeback started with a try just after half time, adding a penalty and three conversions. Hanro Liebenberg was also in action for Leicester, playing the full 80 minutes at blindside flank. Leicester climbed up to third place after their fourth win in five league games, with leaders Saracens and second-placed Bath above them.

– Newcastle ended their 25-match losing streak by defeating Exeter 24-18 on Friday, registering a first win since March 2023. Despite falling behind to an early Exeter try, the Falcons responded through a try from former Sharks flank Philip van der Walt and two tries either side of the break. Former Cheetahs prop Luan de Bruin was a substitute for Newcastle, facing off against former Stormers loosehead Kwenzo Blose.

– Northampton bounced back from defeat to Leicester last weekend by routing Sale 47-17. Six of Northampton’s seven tries came in the first half as Saints racked up an 18th consecutive home victory. Robert du Preez kicked a penalty and two conversions at flyhalf for Sale, who had Hyron Andrews and Ernst van Rhyn in the second row and Dan du Preez at No 8.

– Saracens scored a penalty with the final kick of the game to claim a thrilling 37-35 victory over Bristol on Saturday to go top of the table. Ivan van Zyl started at scrumhalf for Saracens and played 54 minutes.

Francois van Wyk scored a late try to give Bath a 26-24 win over Harlequins, lifting them to second in the table. Van Wyk was joined on the scoresheet by Thomas du Toit, who followed his 12-try effort from last season by dotting down in his third game. Tyrone Green returned from injury at fullback for Harlequins, who led until the 77th minute of a seven-try thriller at The Stoop.
